Christmas

Christmas has always been my favorite time of the year for a few reasons. There's something different in the air and everyone seems to treat each other nicer and be that bit kinder. December also marks mine and my Dad's birthday so that makes it an extra special month. I spend my birthday surrounded by Christmas decorations and Christmas carols are always playing in the background.

To me, Christmas is and always has been about family. In particular my parents. When I was younger till I was 20, our whole family would get together at my grandmothers place and open presents the second the clock hit 12. My grandmother would cook all the traditional Eurasian food, my aunt would make a shephards pie and sugee cake every year without fail and my dad would go to this deli at Alexandra and get sausages. It was a much simpler time when I was younger when everyone got along and loved each other. Sadly, this didnt continue once my grandfather sold their house and my grandmother came down with dementia. I think back sometimes and my heart aches that this all ended because the highlight of each Christmas since I was a baby was being with the whole family and seeing everyone's happy face and eating the wonderful food cooked by my Nana which noone can ever replicate.

Which is why my dream is to own my own place so I can continue this tradition. I love to spread the joy and warmth of Christmas which is why I put in alot of effort at Christmas time to buy small gifts and write cards for friends and family. So, now I have penned it down and I know it will  materialise. Once I get the keys to  my house, every Christmas eve I will host a dinner for my parents and friends. I don't think this tradition should die and I wish to revive it and preserve the Eurasian traditions at Christmas.

With that I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and may the joy of Christ birth keep the fire in your heart burning.

we accept the love we think we deserve

I think I've mentioned time and again how strong the mind is. It controls our every thought, action and perception of situations and people.

I have met many really nice girls/guys in my course of  life and dont you all notice one thing? Some really nice people just always end up choosing shitty partners? Like all the years you've known them, they've ONLY had bad partners who end up treating them horribly. I wouldnt put this down to luck, cos quite frankly you make your own luck. There's no such thing as luck. Its how you use chances presented to you. According to a research done:

Lucky people are more relaxed and open, and therefore see what is there rather than just what they are looking for. They are skilled at creating and noticing chance opportunities, make lucky decisions by listening to their intuition, create self-fulfilling prophesies via positive expectations, and adopt a resilient attitude that transforms bad luck into good. There were 4 principles that were recommended to be applied to transform your life into a happier one:

  • Listen to your gut instincts - they are normally right
  • Be open to new experiences and breaking your normal routine
  • Spend a few moments each day remembering things that went well
  • Visualise yourself being lucky before an important meeting or telephone call. Luck is very often a self-fulfilling prophecy
Anyway back to my original topic, some people end up with horrible partners, simply because you accept the love you THINK you deserve. This is all in the mind, you could be the best looking girl/guy, but if in your head you put yourself down and think noone will ever love you, you're probably gonna end up right. This is cos that is the kinda energy you're giving off which is why you attract the wrong kind, and when THEY love you, you feel so grateful and accept their love.

So, to sum it up, be positive! I'm not saying you should be egoistic and think you're too good for anyone but dont accept love readily, exercise discretion and be with someone who respects you and doesn't play with your feelings. YOU deserve better!

Essential Foods for the Body

Have there been times when you’ve been sleeping early and getting your 8 hours sleep yet you still feel dead beat?
Well, that’s cos sleep is not the only component in making you feel energised. A large part has also got to do with your diet. A diet rich in protein and fibre will make you feel lively and tire out less easily as opposed to a diet rich in carbohydrates.
Despite coffee being the most common option to wake yourself up, an excess of it will actually do the opposite, it will make you feel lethargic and lacklustre. I know this from my own experience as I used to be taking 3-4 cups of coffee a day to keep myself awake and I woke every morning feeling like I hadn’t slept a wink. It’s been a month now that I’ve quit coffee and I honestly feel much better. I don’t feel as tired as I used to be although I’ve been sleeping later (which isn’t good tho)
In addition, the below foods can be added to your diet to help you function better:
Fruit
Fiber is a natural energizer and apples are packed full of it so if you’re feeling sleepy at mid day, grab an apple instead of that cup of coffee, the amount of vitamins in it will also help promote great skin and keep flu’s at bay!

Nuts

Keep a pack of roasted almonds (without the sugar) on your desk. They’re full of protein and fat free so grab a handful for an instant energy boost.

Water

Even if you don’t feel thirsty, drink water. The body gets dehydrated especially in air con rooms which we all are stuck in for 8 hours a day so try as much as you can to get 4 litres down a day.

Chocolate

By chocolate, I don’t mean a Kit Kat or Snickers Bar, I’m referring to dark chocolate like Lindt Dark Chocolate 70%. Dark chocolate is full of antioxidants as well and makes you feel happy too, so 2 squares a day is highly recommended!

Oatmeal

It’s easiest to eat oatmeal as a breakfast item, so start the morning by eating clean. You can refer to my recipe here

Veggies

In our bodies, fiber acts a bit like a sponge—it can grab things that are passing through our digestive tract and help to whisk them away, that’s why you hear about fiber lowering bad cholesterol levels. It latches on to some of the building blocks of cholesterol, ultimately helping to reduce its levels. As veggies have the highest level of fiber, it’s really important to incorporate them as part of our daily diet. Have a salad for lunch or steam some veggies for dinner but make sure at some point in the day, you DO get veggies. The below are 5 of the veggies with the highest fiber and the great thing, you can actually have them all in one serving if you chuck them into a salad
1.       Peas
2.       Potatoes
3.       Brussel Sprouts (steamed)
4.       Parsnips
5.       Baby Spinach (love this as the base in my salad!)
I love to add broccoli to my salad as well which is also really healthy!

Whole Grains

To eat more whole grains, substitute a whole-grain product for a refined product – such as eating whole-wheat bread instead of white bread or brown rice instead of white rice. It’s important to substitute the whole-grain product for the refined one, rather than adding the whole-grain product.
ü  brown rice
ü  buckwheat
ü  bulgur
ü  millet
ü  oatmeal
ü  quinoa
ü  rolled oats
ü  whole-grain barley
ü  whole-grain corn
ü  whole-grain sorghum
ü  whole-grain triticale
ü  whole oats
ü  whole rye
ü  whole wheat
ü  wild rice

Omega

Sardines, salmon, flax seeds and walnuts are excellent food sources of omega-3 fatty acids. Flax seeds can be added to oatmeal, walnuts and salmon to a salad and sardines to a sandwich so it’s really easy to get your dose of omega daily. Omega is really important as it helps to reduce inflammation in the body, lowers cholesterol and also reduces the risk of obesity.
                                                                      **********
With that, I end my mid week post on clean eating and the kind of foods we should have in our diets on a daily basis to help us feel good naturally!

a healthy breakfast option

I've been thinking about different breakfast options cos every single day I eat the same thing for the breakfast, TOAST. I'm not sick of it anything but it would be nice to have something different once in awhile.

So off I went in the search of other options and went no further to my favorite chef, Jamie Oliver and got this! Sounds pretty awesome right?

Pullokka (or Bircher Muesli)

8 large handfuls of organic Scottish porridge oats
2 large handfuls of ground bran
1 handful of chopped dried apricots
1 handful of chopped dried dates
1 handful of crumbled walnuts
1 handful of smashed or chopped almonds, hazelnuts or Brazil nuts

Add your porridge oats and bran to your plastic container with the apricots and dates.  Add the walnuts and your other chosen nuts (I usually bash them up in a tea towel).  At this point feel free to improvise, adding any other preferred dried fruits like raisins, sultanas or figs - but personally I think my combination works pretty well.  This will keep for a good couple of months very happily in your airtight container, but you'll have eaten it by then, I guarantee

Making and knocking together -

milk to cover
1/2 a crunchy apple per person, washed and unpeeled

I would definitely try to make this the night or day before you want to eat it, although it can be made at the time) but you won't get the smooth silky scrumptious texture that the milk gives it overnight - I normally place double the amount of composed cereal I need (i.e. 4 portions for 2 people ) into a bowl.  Doubling up like this gives you enough to eat for the next couple of days.  Cover with milk, grate in around half an apple per person and stir immediately to stop the apple discolouring.  Place in the fridge.

Tucking in and eating -

half a banana per person peeled and sliced or squashed
honey to taste

Remove the bowl from the fridge.  You will find it has softened and thickened, so loosen with a little milk.  Add your banana sliced or squashed.  You will find that a lot of natural sweetness has come out of the dried fruit, so add honey to taste.  Serve in a bowl with a dollop of yoghurt and some mixed berries.

Reflections

It’s that time of the year when I sit back and reflect on the year. When I started this blog 4 months ago, I set about some goals here

These were the 4 things I wanted to do this year:

1.       Start a blog
2.       Join a dance class
3.       Open a blog shop with my friend aka sister
4.       Take my driving lessons

And I’m proud to say that out of the 4, I am only left with one to complete. But it’s not something I’m DEAD set on either. I just don’t know if I want to do accessories or clothes so I’m putting that on hold for now. And I’ve seen people really struggle with it.
Which brings me to planning for next year. Next year, I want to buy a house. It’s a HUGE step but I think at 28 it’s something I want to invest in. Property is also the best form of investment in Singapore. It can only go up unlike stocks.
My next goal although simple is to try and clear all my instalments on my credit cards and cut up as many as I can. To be honest, I regret ever signing up for my first credit card which was the UBO ONE card. To hell with the points, the one time you pay late, all the points you’ve accumulated are the same amount as the fee. Funnily enough, my dad never had and to now doesn’t have a credit card. He always said what’s the point? You’re spending money you don’t have. Which is really true, I wonder why I didn’t follow his wise words?
That’s really about it for now. I haven’t thought of anything else. More might come to me though but I think these 2 are pretty big in themselves. Writing down your goals really help materialise them so come on guys! Pen down your goals for 2013, and I’m certain you’ll achieve them or at least some of them!

All about Yoga!

There have been so many things running at the speed of my light through my mind lately. I feel like I’m the ocean and there are schools of fish just swimming frantically across ALL THE TIME.
But thank god for yoga. I really have to thank my ex col for bringing me to True Yoga one day during lunch for a trial class. Prior to that, I’d never even have considered yoga cos to me, it’s not a workout. I always use to think it’s a lazy person’s excuse for exercise. But boy was I wrong!

Yoga calms the mind and rejuvenates the body! Whenever I feel any stress in my life I go to a class and come out feeling much better and more at ease. For such instances, I’d recommend Yoga Therapy. It’s an easy class that doesn’t require much effort but involves a lot of breathing and stretching. Its also incredible if you’ve just had a hard workout the previous day and are experiencing muscle aches. I swear to you, the muscle aches are reduced by 50% STRAIGHT after the class. No shit.
My next favourite yoga class would be Hot Yoga, it’s conducted in a hot room and goes on for an hour. It’s said to remove toxins from your body and enables you to perform the poses with more ease due to the heat loosening up the muscles. I do at least one hot yoga a week and it’s awesome. You sweat a bucket, and can actually feel slimmer after. After a hot shower, you can be assured a great night’s sleep!
The other classes include Vinyasa (which I’m trying this Saturday for the first time!), Hatha (not as strenuous as hot but effective!), Lila Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Yoga Stretch.
You can refer to the True Yoga website for more information on the types of classes but the ones I’ve mentioned are the ones I personally find most effective and would recommend to anyone!
That being said, if your aim is to lose weight, yoga alone is NOT gonna do the job. You have to couple it with cardio such as cycling, swimming and running. A combination of yoga and cardio is the optimal workout and will be sure to help you lose those pounds!
If anyone needs a trial class or is interested in signing with True Fitness/Yoga, please call or text the most awesome consultant there, Jackson. In my time with True (since 2010) I’ve met a variety of consultants and all of them have one thing in common, the sale. With Jackson, you will find he’s helpful and glad to go out of his way to make sure you get the class you wish to attend and he also gives the best rate! Most importantly, he’s not pushy so you won’t have to worry he’s gonna force or harass you into signing up with them.

It could get ugly before it gets beautiful

Trouble

Once upon a time, a few mistakes ago
I was in your sights, you got me alone
You found me, you found me
You found me
I guess you didn't care and I guess I liked that
And when I fell hard, you took a step back
Without me, without me
Without me

And he's long gone
When he's next to me
And I realize, the blame is on me

Cause I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now, flew me to places I'd never been
Till you put me down
Oh I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now, flew me to places I'd never been
Now I'm lying on the cold hard ground

Oh, oh, trouble, trouble, trouble
Oh, oh, trouble, trouble, trouble

No apologies, he'll never see you cry
Pretends he doesn't know that he's the reason why
You're drowning, you're drowning
You're drowning
And I heard you moved on from whispers on the street
A new notch in your belt is all I'll ever be
Now I see, Now I see
Now I see
And he was long gone
When he met me
And I realize, the blame is on me

Reinforcing the Secret

I previously blogged about the secret and how if you think positively, you will achieve positive outcomes. And today whilst reading yahoo news, I came across this:

According to Napoleon Hill, “A positive mental attitude is the starting point of all riches.”

There is no doubt about it, your happiness, success, and wealth depends on your mental attitude. In other words, your mental attitude has the greatest importance in your life. It has the power to include success in your blood and move you closer to your goals. It can not only make your thoughts supreme but also give you eternal floods of happiness.

All Things Pretty

I've decided to do this post more for myself to remember than anything else and if anyone knows where I can get them cheaper or think it isn’t nice, feel free to comment. I can get a bit ahead of my ideas sometimes. ;)

Prada Saffiano leather wallet in Cameo or Dark Rose.  bought!

I really like the cameo but I know it’s gonna get dirty really quickly cos I’m not one that takes care of my stuff very well. So I guess I’m gonna get the dark rose. I haven’t used a wallet in ages but rather dump everything into my wristlet but I think I wanna go back to using one. It looks a lot classier.

Isn’t this the most precious thing you’ve ever set eyes on? I originally always wanted the Miu Miu Bow in this shade but couldn’t get it as it was out of stock entirely in Europe. But now I think this design is way better cos its more structured. Oh god how I love this.

Tiffany and Co Charm Bracelet

Ok this has got to be the most clichéd item and most guys who don’t have a clue what to buy for presents, buy this. But I’ve always lusted after it. It’s not that expensive but I don’t why I haven’t parted with my money for it up till now. We’ll see huh?

Chanel Pearl Earrings

The most common Chanel earrings would probably the crystal encrusted one but I’m not crazy about it cos the crystals drop and there are so many replicas. But this one I love. It oozes class and elegance!

Ferragamo jelly Flats

These are adorable! Lots and lots of places like the Chanel earrings have made copies of it but it’s not the same. YOU will know you’re wearing a replica and as much as I can help it, I’d rather not have the item than wear a replica. I’m strange like that.

Balenciaga Double Wrap Around Bracelet
This item is one I’ve made an exception to my rule of no replicas simply cos I wanted to see it if I’d wear it much and yes! I do wear it quite abit. But now I can’t decide on the color I want. I really like the blue but matching is gonna be no easy feat and I’m the anal kind that likes my shoes and bracelets to match.
So, that’s all the items I’d wish to buy but just haven’t yet. I know I should stop buying my truckloads of ASOS and save and get these but I like quantity and I like wearing different dresses and stuff. Oh well, I shall continue lusting till my next pay raise ;)
TGIF y’all!

My Minimalist Approach to Skincare

I think I might possibly have the simplest skincare regime around. I’ve split it into day and night so its easier to the difference, although the difference is so minimal. Haha;)
In the morning I use my all time favourite cleanser, the gel moussant from Avene. It has no scent and no colouring or any of that artificial stuff so it’s perfect for my sensitive skin.

Once I’ve dried my face, I use Avene/Vichy thermal water as a toner as i don’t see the need to use an actual toner which involves rubbing my face with a cotton pad since I’m guessing my face doesn’t get very dirty while I sleep.

Once that dries, I slap on some of my Biore face milk which is SPF50+ and off I go! That’s it! Nothing else. I’ve read before the less you put on your face, the better. Anyway skin condition is pretty much determined from what you ingest and not so much of what you apply outside. Which brings me back to my earlier post on supplements!
Once I’m back from work, I use Bivesta makeup remover if i used any makeup which i usually don’t and that pretty much gets off all the goop from my face.

At night i use a better cleanser given the fact my face has been exposed to all that grime, dirt and dust from outside. This has little beads in it and has done a good job so far! I love Kiehl’s products but they’re so expensive!

After cleansing, i use Vichy toner cos it’s the only one that hasn’t irritated my face so far. As a night cream, I use my beloved Laniege sleeping pack or SK2’s cellumination essence. You can’t use Laniege sleeping pack daily as your face will tend to get oily so it’s best you rotate with something else!

That’s it for the daily stuff!
I mask my face about 3-4x a week and the few I’ve been using on a regular basis are as follows:
1.       Queen Helene’s Mint Julep Masque
2.       Queen Helene’s Clay Mask (seems to work the same as #1)
3.       LoveMore’s Aqua Whitening Mask
4.       MyBeautyDiary’s Hydraulic Acid
5.       SK2’s Whitening Mask (I only use this on special occasions cos its $11 a pop!)
And with that I end my skincare post! Once a month, I get a milk peel done at SkinLab as well. It really has saved my skin countless of times and I don’t think I’ll be changing my facial place anytime soon. The therapists there are awesome, but I can’t say the same for the sales personnel. They are pushy and rude and if not for my therapist who I’ve been going to for a year now, I wouldn’t hesitate to change place!

Seeing the good in bad

Retribution is defined as something justly deserved; recompensated. It doesn’t only pertain to bad doings but also to good in a way. Have you heard of the saying kindness begets kindness? I think it’s very true but of course we need to exercise discretion, we can’t be nice to everyone, cos a lot will just take advantage of it but we should try our best to be kind to the people close to us and those in need of help.

So as much as we can, although at times it might be hard especially when dealing with mean people, we should try not to inflict bad thoughts or do bad things to people like backstabbing and bad mouthing. Cos what you do unto others will be done unto you and when that happens, you will look back and wish you tried to be nicer.

Bad things happen for a reason sometimes though. Sometimes when bad things happen it’s because its making way for something good. Like if you don’t get a job you thought you wanted, its cos there’s a better one just around the corner. Or if you break off in a relationship, some time down the road, you will definitely see that it happened for a very good reason. It’s happened a lot to me but I guess it’s very hard to believe in this especially when the bad times hit.

So with that, I say try and be positive friends J

The Link between Dreams and Reality

I used to think that the dreams we had were an indication of what’s to come. A rough guideline of how life would turn out and what was possibly gonna happen. Moreover, there are so many sites with interpretation of dreams. Some of the more common ones:
“To dream that you your teeth have fallen out and you try to refit them back into the mouth signifies a lack of self-confidence and embarrassment”
“To dream that your hair is white or turns white indicates that something important has just been made aware to you. It is a symbol of wisdom and insight. The dream may also be a metaphor suggesting that you are feeling "light-headed". “
“To dream that you are fired from your job indicates that you want to end some relationship or situation in your waking life. It also suggests that you are repressing what you really desire most”
Although I guess you could relate all the above to some event in your life, have you ever wondered if we deliberately look for something in our life to relate to so that the dream makes sense?
After putting much thought to this topic, I came to the conclusion that dreams aren’t really an indication of the future but a manifestation of what’s really on our minds, a manifestation of fear or something you desire with everything you have in you.
Happy Monday J

The End of the Week

Once u start working the only day of the week you look forward to week in and week out is FRIDAY! Every day we go through the motions awaiting the arrival of Friday and claim to be happiest on Friday.  You want the week to pass by as fast as possible so you can enjoy Friday, where you work a little less and take things easy.
But if you think about it, that’s just really sad. Cos what you’re inadvertently doing is wishing your life away. As I’ve got older, I find the years are just whizzing by and it’s pretty scary. Before I know it, I’m gonna be 40. I can clearly remember my birthday last year like it was yesterday and now my birthday is coming again in less than 2 months. It’s really starting to scare me how fast time flies.
I guess what we all should do is find meaning to life. Take up a sport or an interest that makes every day a good day. Something that makes you look forward to every single day of your life.  Don’t let your life get into a routine. I’ve done this by taking up yoga a year back and recently, taking up driving. I also try and mix it up by going on different days and not doing the same thing every day. At one point I used to do yoga on Sunday mornings, I’ve stopped that now and switched it over to the weekdays. Try doing something like that, and I’m sure you’ll not dread every weekday!
Live every day to the fullest cos you’ll never know when it’ll be your last! Don’t live fearing embarrassment or failure cos that only exists only your mind!

Money? Happiness? Or both?

This is something that has passed through everyone’s mind at some point. If you say no, then you’re a liar. And it’s not only applicable to choosing your partner. I’ve heard before that love dies but money doesn’t. But if there isn’t any love to begin with, would there be any happiness? Having money is of course a plus point but shouldn’t be a condition. Besides, as a girl, I believe I can earn my own money. I don’t wanna marry some rich dude and forever feel indebted because he’s paid for the e.g. house and car and probably have it rubbed in my face at some point down the road.
And then work. Choose a job you love that might pay badly or one you don’t really like and pays a lot of money? In this aspect I’m afraid I lean more to money. Because with me earning more money in my job, I can choose correctly in love. Makes sense? If you suffer in work, its 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. If you suffer in love, its 24/7, 365 days a year for an indefinite period of time. And changing job is easy, well relatively easy. I took a job last Nov purely for the pay jump. I knew from the first week I worked there that I was in for a hard time. I started looking out for a new one and got one 10 months later. So in making a wrong decision there, I only suffered 10 months but still made the money. And when you change job, of course you make more in the next one, it’s just the way it works.
So, there are times when you should sacrifice happiness for money, but of course in the right aspect of life.

Appreciation

This has been a topic that has always been close to my heart. It’s about appreciating your parents when they’re still around and not when it’s too late. A lot of us young people take for granted that our parents will always be around. Sadly, at this age we realise that they’re getting older; we see them get sick and it hits us that we don’t have as much time as we thought left to spend with them.
So, I as much as we can, we should try and be patient with our parents and hold our tongues before lashing out at them and losing our cool. Try to spend as much time as possible with them, talking to them and sharing your life. Our bf’s and friends are gonna be around a whole lot longer so we should try and not spend every waking minute with them and spare a thought for the ones who selflessly brought us up and gave us everything we needed to become the persons we are today.
As clichéd as it sounds, health is indeed wealth. No matter how rich you are, if you’re stricken with a life threatening illness, no amount of money in the world is gonna save you or help you when you reach heavens gates.  It’s the amount of good you do in your life and your compassion to others that will grant you eternal life in paradise. I’m not saying we should live life being nice people because we don’t want to go to hell but rather do it because you want to. And the people who deserve to be shown the most compassion and love are our parents.
So, do something nice today! Give your mum or dad a call and check in on how they’re doing. Buy them something nice on your way back from work. If you don’t live with your parents, drop in on a surprise visit!
Happy mid week all!

My Coveted Aglio Recipe

Aglio Olio Recipe.
This is a dish I cook VERY often but have taken ages to perfect. I used to cheat before and use chicken stock to flavour the dish but I don’t know, I don’t think the Italians use chicken stock right? Haha.
So anyway, I usually cook this dish with bacon and mushrooms. One packet of back bacon (attempting to use the healthier version cos streaky bacon has a lot more fat than back bacon) and the pre cut button mushrooms you can get in a pack from GIANT or NTUC, I think they’re like $2.50. I always stick to angel hair pasta for aglio cos because of how thin it is, it absorbs flavour much better which you need for this dish cos it can be bland if you use thicker pastas like linguine.

I’m a huge herb user in my cooking and for this I usually use Thyme and Parsley flakes. Rule of thumb; don’t mix more than 2 herbs in one dish. The taste is really overpowering and you’ll probably feel sick after just a few mouthfuls. And of course, my favourite spice of all time, black pepper.

Alright, time to get organised. These are the ingredients you’re gonna need:
1.      Garlic (A whole bulb or you can use the pre cut one but that burns easily so don’t be lazy!)
2.      2 Chilli Padi
3.      Olive Oil
4.      Garlic Powder (if you have! It’s not really that necessary)
5.      Thyme and Parsley ( it doesn’t have to be the fresh one, you can just get the bottled ones)
6.      San Remo Angel Hair Pasta
7.      Sea Salt
8.      A packet of back bacon
9.      A packet of mushrooms
And here’s the way to cook it:

1.      Boil your pasta in a pot of boiling water seasoned with salt and olive oil.
2.      Coat your pan with olive oil and fry the bacon, once the bacon is browned you can add the mushrooms
3.      Remove the bacon and mushrooms and use the bacon-flavored oil to fry the garlic. Make sure it doesn’t burn!
4.      Add a few tablespoons of the pasta water to the pan and let it simmer abit before adding the thyme, parsley, salt and pepper.
5.      Add the cooked angel hair in and toss the pasta till it’s coated in the sauce.
6.      Add back the bacon and mushrooms and you’re done!

Fashion Forward

I’ve wondered for awhile, what’s my style? I’ve never really followed fashion trends religiously. You can see me wearing knit even in June but I guess to an extent I do adopt some of the ideas of the latest trends. My latest, although I’m abit slow, is colored bottoms.
I’ve been looking for a nice pair of mint bottoms for the longest time!! I saw a pair in H&M but I looked like a tub of lard in them so those were a miss. And then I don’t buy pants from local blogshops cos the material is usually rough and the length is all wrong.
Eventually.. I FOUND THEM! Hooray! From my favourite ever! ASOS! Perfect length and cut, I basically stick to 98% cotton and 2% elastane for ASOS bottoms and so far they’ve all fit really well.

Another essential item are white pants. They look so clean cut yet stylish but it is very hard to get the right pair. I typically prefer super skinny cuts as it makes the legs look longer and slimmer. Bootcut and flares are a big no-no. I remember earlier this year the extreme flare pants were in, I avoided that like the plague! And for good reason, I don’t see them much anymore and I still see skinny everywhere!

So, I guess, wear what you like and what you feel flatters your figure. Some stuff although it looks nice on others might not look good on you, so don’t follow trends blindly!
